As well as this working with my younger cousins and family friends in preparing for their recent GCSE exams assisting them in their mathematical skills to apply in their exams. I am now studying for my bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic engineering at the University of Birmingham. Giving me a strong foundation in key fundamentals of Maths, applying a vital critical thinking mindset; implementing a logical reasoning, problem-solving, and numerical understanding work ethic, which I aim to pass on to my students. My lessons are aimed to be tailored to each individual student! I like to ask the students if there are any specific areas to focus on, whilst covering the whole syllabus. I often start with a fun starter to recap last lesson, moving onto the lesson where I share my screen to show my working, so that students understand my approach clearly. I will do my own question and work through questions I give students aswell as past papers to really consolidate knowledge. I like to set regular homework, believing practise is the best way to learn. I have experience in tutoring lots of secondary school students. I aim to build a relationship with the children I tutor, believing the best way to achieve success and reach full potential is working together. Fun fact about me! I have 3 Maths GCSEs, achieving a 5 in Foundation Maths when I was only 11, achieving and 8s in both Higher and Further Maths when I was 16. I then went onto achieve a grade A in Maths at A level, along with an A and B in Biology and Chemistry respectively. I study Natural Sciences at University of Exeter, which consists of Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science. I balance my commitment to my studies with my love for sport. I play rugby and referee children’s football matches, aswell as teaching swimming. I love working with children and watching them grow in confidence; it is so rewarding to be a part of that.

Hi, I’m Clara, a fifth-year medical student at the University of Cambridge. I have completed an intercalated BA degree in Engineering and Medical Sciences, and I am currently undertaking the clinical component of my studies to become a medical doctor. I have over three years of tutoring experience with 11+, GCSE, and A-level students, as well as students preparing for the UCAT and medical interviews. My passion for academic excellence and perfecting exam technique helped me achieve 11 grade 9s at GCSE and 4 grade A*s at A level (in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics). Having gained Medicine offers in 2022 from Cambridge, Imperial, QMUL and Manchester, I have recent, firsthand experience in applying for Medicine at university. I am in my second year studying Maths and Philohophy at the University of Warwick. I’m Luke, I am a Natural sciences student at Cambridge. Studied Maths Chemistry Biology and geography at A level. This summer I am a Teaching intern at SMC/vantage. I have taught whole lessons in the sciences and geography from ks3 to a level. A massive fan of conservation and nature, formula one and football. Sadly I am a spurs fan so the less said about football the better. I’m a member of the rspb so I do enjoy bird watching and every summer for the past 2 years I’ve volunteered to teach ecology and data analysis to year 12 students in Morecambe‘s salt marshes over a whole week. The best bit about teaching for me is the moment it clicks, specifically when a student doesn't understand a concept, reframing my approach and it eventually working is as good as it gets.

I completed a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford and have since been a full time educator.
