Hi, I’m Iseabhail! I’m currently an undergraduate student at the University of St Andrews studying French, Arabic, and Persian. I achieved A*s in both French and English Literature at A-Level, as well as an 8 in French, and a 9 in English Literature at GCSE. I’ve focused on building a strong academic foundation that is rooted in a deep love for Literature and Modern Languages which allows me to communicate complex ideas clearly. Through my experience as a Class Rep for Persian at university, I advocate for fellow learners and bring leadership and communication directly to my tutoring. I have been studying French and Spanish for over a decade and am currently pursuing Spanish at degree level. My own academic background includes grade 8 (A*) in both French and Spanish at GCSE, an A* in A-Level French, and an A in A-Level Spanish. I’m Luke, an academic scholar and reading Classics at Christ Church , Oxford (first class honours in all years so far). I’m an incoming UCL Undergraduate on one of the most prestigious language courses in the world. I received A*AAA in my A-Levels, the three As being single digits below the A* grade boundary, including a 99% score in my spanish speaking exam and a 96% score in my french speaking exam. I would love to help other young students during this stressful time to take advantage of my up-to-date current affairs and essay writing knowledge, as well as the tried and tested revision methods I have learnt, which I believe are invaluable given the lack of language resources across schools in the U.K. I would focus on a student centric teaching style, incorporating much active recall for optimised learning. For Politics; we would work collaboratively to analyse recent political events and incorporate these into detailed essay plans, for Spanish and French; focussing heavily on spoken content revision and speaking technique, as well as working through resources to improve vocabulary bases and essay writing at both A-Level and GCSE. I've been tutoring for over two years, working with students across Maths, English Language & Literature, French, Spanish and Geography. I've taught learners at different levels and stages, and I tailor my approach depending on what each subject and each student actually needs.
