I obtained a 6/7 in HL Business Management and a 6/7 in English Literature HL. I’m a native English speaker and I’m fluent in Hungarian. Hi, I’m Alfie — a recent Classics graduate from the University of Manchester with a deep love of language, literature, and big ideas. I tutor in Latin, Ancient Greek, English, and Religious Studies. I studied Latin at both GCSE and A-Level (achieving an A in each), before reading Classics at the University of Manchester, where I graduated with a 2:1. At university, I focused heavily on mastering Classical Languages — Latin and Ancient Greek — and even studied at the Novum Vivarium in Rome, a renowned school where all instruction is delivered entirely in spoken Latin. Alongside my language studies, I developed a strong interest in the cultural, literary, and philosophical dimensions of the ancient world — interests which naturally extend into English and Religious Studies. I’ve hosted a podcast with Luke Ranieri, one of the world’s foremost scholars in modern spoken Latin, where we explored topics ranging from grammar to deeper questions about meaning and tradition. I’ve now been tutoring for over a year across various platforms. My teaching style is grounded in curiosity and collaboration: I like to ask open-ended questions and guide students toward figuring things out for themselves. This is especially effective in subjects that require interpretation and reflection, like English and Religious Studies. One thing I often help students with is building confidence. Many pupils — especially in intellectually demanding subjects — struggle not with ability but with a fear of making mistakes. My lessons create a safe space where trial and error is encouraged and where even small wins are celebrated. Over time, I’ve seen this approach transform not just how students perform, but how they think. Hello! My name is Kitty and I’m a recent graduate from Oxford. I studied English Language and Literature at Trinity College. I have tutored both English Language and Literature for GCSE and A-Level. This consisted of preparing students for exams by working through past questions together and discussing good techniques for both revision and for exams. I tutored students taking a wide variety of different exam boards, so have experience with the format and requirements of AQA, Edexcel, OCR and CIE. I have also helped lots of students with Oxbridge application preparation. This included helping with personal statements, written work, unseen poem practice and mock interviews. My work here was a blend of instruction and teaching but I also sought to encourage confidence and skills of articulacy to help the students have the means to talk through their own ideas in a relaxed and clear way.

I have been a GCSE English Literature and English Language tutor for over four years. Attending Cambridge University I have always thrived and enjoyed learning, tutoring helps me channel this passion as I teach to help others find pleasure in subjects, I myself, adore. In line with my degree in Human, Social and Political sciences, my teaching methods follow a critical pedagogical approach- this essentially means I aim to teach the critical thinking skills needed for a student to learn and analyse independently- this is a muscle which needs training and cultivating. My tutoring varies from student to student as I am completely against the idea of a 'one approach fits all'. A part of the fun for me is learning about the student themselves, allowing me to tailor each lesson to each individual. I have my own mnemonic techniques to help structure and guide memory and learning, specifically using recall and colour for students who find memory particularly difficult. This approach expands to aid the learning of students with special educational needs including Dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism, which I am personally equipped and experienced to tutor. As long as the student is open to learning, my lessons will be taught according to how you learn: some students are more visual, some need writing practice, some need supervised study, some need structure, ALL need the skills to critically think as this will EXPONENTIALLY benefit your child in other subjects and areas of life. The subjects I specialise in and teach at all levels are: English Literature and Language, Politics, and Sociology. The more time I have to tutor the more I can guarantee results, so I strongly advise double sessions to get the most out of the time spent together. Further on this point, if our sessions begin 1-2 months before exams realistically we will need more than a double session a week. I was able to get a student to a grade 9 in his English Lit exam last year starting only a month before, however we had 6 hours of tutoring a week.

Hi! I'm Tom and I am a First-Class Classics graduate from the University of Oxford. I have two years of tutoring experience and I look to engage students with a pragmatic approach to their course, so that they feel confident as they revise and find the checkpoints of revision rewarding. By providing an approach which focuses on helpful exam prep, I hope to guide students through their course systematically. I have tutored 4 pupils in primary school Maths and Latin, and ISEB Common entrance prep for Latin and Greek. I achieved straight 9s at iGCSE and 3A*s at A-Level/Pre-U, and therefore I feel equipped to share my techniques with other students. I am a First Class graduate from Bayes Business School. Upon completion of my GCSE and A levels, I have found interest in tutoring and would like to help students in having a smoother transition throughout their terms.
