Hi! My name is Isabella and I am an Undergraduate student at the University of Manchester, studying Politics and International Relations and progressing into second year this September. I have a successful academic record, having achieved 3 A* in History, English Literature and Sociology A-Levels. However, this was not always the case; I had achieved a C in my first history mock in Year 12 and a B in my last mock before exams in Year 13. Yet, through targeting the topics and skills that were difficult for me, I was able to improve dramatically in History, gaining exam results that were amongst the top 5 students in my year group of 139. The drastic improvements I made in History also taught me how to effectively revise for English and Sociology too. This personal experience makes me a strong tutor because I understand that successful learning does not come from passive, generic methods. Hello! I am currently studying English and History at Royal Holloway, University of London, where I was awarded the Barbara Raw Scholarship. Hi there! My name is Clara and I currently study Philosophy at St Andrews University. My life-long passion for reading has led to me becoming an English tutor (as well as teaching other humanities subjects!) I believe that the benefits of tutoring go beyond earning high exam results. While this is certainly the goal, looking beyond exams by inspiring a love for learning is one of my priorities.
