Hello! My name is Saleena, and I am a first year Physics with Theoretical Physics student at Imperial College London. I have previous experience in tutoring Maths and English and I am very passionate about teaching! I believe that a gentle but effective approach to tutoring is best, by increasing first understanding and then practice. My academic journey has gone from having a passion for the law to studying physics, so I have lots of experience in honing skills in different subjects! Additionally, I have achieved 8 9s and 2 8s in my GCSES and A*A*A in Maths, Further Maths and Physics A Levels, so I have a fairly good grasp on how to improve exam technique. Outside of my physics studies, I also write for my university's newspaper as well as writing short fiction, as I really enjoy more literary pastimes in contrast to my everyday studies. My approach to tutoring is very student-based; and will be tailored on a student to student basis depending on interests and which methods work best for which students. At the end of the day, my goal is to help students achieve their full potential and to help them enjoy doing it!

My lessons are aimed to be tailored to each individual student! I like to ask the students if there are any specific areas to focus on, whilst covering the whole syllabus. I often start with a fun starter to recap last lesson, moving onto the lesson where I share my screen to show my working, so that students understand my approach clearly. I will do my own question and work through questions I give students aswell as past papers to really consolidate knowledge. I like to set regular homework, believing practise is the best way to learn. I have experience in tutoring lots of secondary school students. I aim to build a relationship with the children I tutor, believing the best way to achieve success and reach full potential is working together. Fun fact about me! I have 3 Maths GCSEs, achieving a 5 in Foundation Maths when I was only 11, achieving and 8s in both Higher and Further Maths when I was 16. I then went onto achieve a grade A in Maths at A level, along with an A and B in Biology and Chemistry respectively. I study Natural Sciences at University of Exeter, which consists of Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science. I balance my commitment to my studies with my love for sport. I play rugby and referee children’s football matches, aswell as teaching swimming. I love working with children and watching them grow in confidence; it is so rewarding to be a part of that.

My name is Tyra Branch, and I am a third year medical student at the university of Cambridge. As a tutor, I strive for my student to achieve their greatest potential in academic performance and instill them with the essential time management and revision strategies to help them excel. My Educational Background: In my A-Level exams, I have achieved 3 A*s in A-Level maths, chemistry and biology, as well as achieving an A* in my extended project qualification. As a medical student, I apply a range of A-level knowledge to my studies, and the foundations of knowledge these A-Levels have provided have helped me to build up my understanding of complex medical knowledge. The specific exam boards I completed exams for were OCR A for biology, AQA for chemistry and Edexcel for maths. However, I am able to research and accommodate to all exam boards. My style of teaching: As a tutor , I am aware that each student learns differently and may be a visual learner, a learner who values verbal explanations or a learner who values high yield notes. As a result, I can accommodate my teaching style to match the learning style of my student. However, my basic teaching style includes providing a PowerPoint presentation with high yield notes and knowledge for each topic covered on the exam specification (specifications are a list of topics to be covered, and high yield knowledge is knowledge that is often and frequently examined within exam papers). I will also include diagrams to help visualise the complex concepts. Following this we will apply knowledge to practice questions to help to understand the information required in each exam answer and practice the integration of our knowledge into different concepts.
